Have a Seat

Grab one last handful of chips and a coaster for your drink and we’ll sit down in the living room to talk more about the mission we have been given for this church. The ultimate mission for this church is to proclaim the life changing truth of the Gospel and to make disciples of those who confess Christ as Lord and Savior. We will do this through the following:

  • Assemble together (Foyer experience).
  • Carry out the Great Commission (Living room activity)
    • Teach the things that Jesus taught us (Living room activity)
    • Scatter witnesses everywhere  to reproduce (once again a living room activity).

Personal discipleship and reproduction are high priorities. Our discipleship consists of showing believers how to live on mission, how to walk in Christ daily carrying our cross so that He will be glorified. Sound radical? It is. That’s why you might hear us refer to it as radically living on mission. How do we do this?  Think of it as a mentorship where you are taken under the wing of a committed follower of Christ to be shown what it means to be a Christian and how to walk like one. For too long, the modern day church has been satisfied with converts and has neglected to make disciples as we are instructed to do in Matthew 28:19. A disciple is one who hears the Word of God, and then puts it into action. A disciple is one who is shaped into the image of Christ through spiritual maturity. A disciple is one who is bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God. We would like to show you what that looks like and to help you take the next step in your walk of spiritual maturity. Participating in this is optional of course, but it is the first requirement for being considered for membership. If you would like to learn more about this or to get plugged into discipleship, we recommend you talk to your community group leader or send an email to info@manorfellowship.com.

Just as conversion to Christianity is not the means to an end, neither is discipleship. Once a believer begins to mature and has been discipled by another believer, there is a commission to make other disciples. In other words, we must reproduce. Although we’d like to take credit for this brilliant system of spreading Christianity, it was our Lord’s design and something found throughout the New Testament including  2 Timothy 2:2 and Matthew 28:19.

The living room is also where you are starting to become part of the family. This is where the commitment level steps up a notch.  The living room is where you will find members as well as member candidates. You can learn more about this during our membership classes which are announced during the worship services and placed on the church calendar of events (found on the facebook website). But, you don’t have to be a member to serve.  We have many service needs from greeters to those who help set up the service to childcare workers and beyond.

Thank you for your interest in Manor Fellowship. We know we are not the church for everybody… we’re not trying to be. But, we do encourage you to be plugged in to a local body somewhere so that you can be equipped to engage Christ in a life transforming way.
