REDEMPTION doctrine: March 21, 2010… You have heard the Gospel. Your heart has been regenerated and the Gospel becomes effective when you make a choice to repent from sin and fully depend on Jesus to save you. God gives you right legal standing before Him and you have the promise of eternal life. Is there anything else? God did not give you salvation because of your merit. You did not choose Him, He chose you. He went to the cross. He paid the price. He redeemed you. Wouldn’t that be enough? Of course. But, in the depths of His mercy and grace, He gives us adoption into His family. We are now fellow heirs with Christ and have a Father in heaven who can be trusted, called upon, and relied upon. You are a child of God if you have suffered with Christ. You are a child of the devil if you have rejected His grace. See what the Bible has to say about what it means to be a child of God!
